Fate has been Cruel and Order Unkind
How have I been so carried away
The Nightmares are now gone the punishment mine
The Spirit's silent Tonight

But Into the stillness I bring you a song

Till your tired eyes and my sweet lullabies
Have carried you softly to sleep

Once did a pony who gleemed like a Dream
Looked at on her son and Sigh
She smiled and said, “Surely, there is no Stallion
So spritied and so well handsome as Thou”

So great was her Plans and so brilliant her Spirit
That long was the Nightmare she cast
Which Fell dark upon the Son she loved
And refused to listen as days and nights passed

Sleep Prince of Darkness, Goodnight my son mine,
Rest now in Starlight's embrace
Bear up my lullaby, Spirit of the Dreams
Through Sky, and through Night, and Spirit

Carry the peace and the Spirit of Night
And Carry my sorrow in Kind,
MeanStar you're loved so much more than I know
Forgive me for being So Blind.

Soon did that pony take plans that she cast
Did not give her Son her due
and Neither had she listened to him as he desereved
She watched as her Son's unhappiness grew

But such is the way of the Nightmares, it scared
Takes hold of the Song of its host
And that foolish pony did nothing to stop
The Nightmare of the one who had needed her most
